Reverend Elexis F. Wilson Thomas
Rev. Elexis is the proud daughter of Rev. Clair Wilson and the late Rev. E. Franklin Wilson (deceased), as a child of the parsonage; she has lived in Michigan, Indiana, and all over the state of Illinois. She began her Bachelorette studies at Morris Brown College, in Atlanta GA. and transferred to Eastern Illinois University and received a Bachelor of Arts in English. She acquired a Master of Science in Human Behavior in 2014 and a Master of Psychology in Applied Behavior Analysis; from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN in 2017. Rev. Elexis is in her 3rd year at McCormick Theological Seminary to complete her Master of Divinity. Rev. Elexis Wilson is co-vocational as she serves in ministry, she is also a Behavioral Analyst. She specializes in behavioral change for children and adults diagnosed with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Rev. Elexis Wilson is the Board President of Building Life Community Center in Champaign, IL, a non-profit organization developed to support and build the community. She answered her calling into ministry in February 2016 under the direction of Rev. Adrian Johnson. And she has served diligently under Rev. Dr. James Miller and Rev. Conitras Houston Dickens. Rev. Elexis has held many positions and has been responsible for many different ministries, such as Christian Education, Youth Ministry, and the Media Ministry as well as supporting the WMS.
If asked, Rev. Elexis will tell you she believes in authenticity, transparency, and speaking truth to Power for God’s Word. She thinks sometimes you will have the Bible and sometimes Brown Liquor but KNOW at the end of the day God is with you!
One of her favorite scriptures is Ephesians 3:20 ALL glory to God who is able through God’s mighty power at work WITHIN US, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
In early 2024, Pastor Wilson married Pastor Terrance Thomas, pastor of Bethel AME Church in Champaign, IL
